Job description
We’re seeking friendly and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Retail Staff for Secret Location x Illuminarium’s first Canadian site in the Distillery District, set to open in late Summer 2023. The venue will host a series of immersive experiences that utilize the latest technology in the field as well as experiment with new kinds of shows. As a Retail Staff member, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and creating an enjoyable shopping experience for our guests. You will assist customers in providing products, handling transactions, and maintaining a well-organized and visually appealing retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, assist with inquiries, and provide product knowledge and recommendations.
- Maintain a clean and organized retail area.
- Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock as needed to ensure product availability.
- Assist customers by providing helpful suggestions and ensuring a positive experience.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately, handling cash, credit card transactions, and returns/exchanges.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, and applicable discounts to assist customers effectively.
- Collaborate with the Retail Coordinator to implement visual merchandising strategies, ensuring a visually appealing and enticing shopping environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and provide support during busy periods or special events.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and requests promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Uphold a high level of customer service standards, exceeding customer expectations and fostering positive relationships.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to loss prevention, cash handling, and safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including receiving shipments, checking for accuracy, and organizing stockrooms.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred, but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and approachable manner.
- Ability to multitask and handle transactions accurately in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and calculating discounts or change.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays based on the needs of the business.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Knowledge of retail operations and familiarity with point-of-sake (POS) systems is a plus.
