As a Pharmacy assistant your main responsibility will be to accurately, efficiently and safely provide pharmacy services under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
These services will include:
- dispensing medicines
- advice to customers in line with procedures and protocol
- preparing MDS trays
This is an enjoyable and highly responsible role for a candidate with excellent attention to detail, the ability to work quickly and accurately at all times and the ability to build rapport with both colleagues and patients.
Applicants should be highly motivated, pro-active and willing to work to a very high standard. Applicants should be prepared to work as individuals or within a small team.
The proposed shift pattern is Monday to Friday 9am-5pm in the first instance.
The vacancy is on a permanent basis, however is conditional upon successfully completing the probationary period.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the business in providing an efficient, knowledgeable and friendly service to our patients and customers, with specific responsibility for providing support with the dispensing and labelling of prescription items.
Additional responsibilities will include (but not limited to), general pharmacy housekeeping, stock maintenance, counter sales. Applicants should also have a desire to try new things and will be encouraged to 'think outside of the box'.
You must display skills in planning, your attention to detail must be impeccable and you MUST be able to work under pressure, individually and as part of the team.
You must have great people and communication skills, furthermore as you will be dealing with other healthcare professionals and patients on a daily basis, you must be able to critically assess and understand situations, records and conversations in order to resolve queries FIRST TIME if appropriate.
