The Retail Assistant understands their role as an ambassador for Waddesdon and displays pride in our
products, services and delivery of exceptional customer service. As part of the team, you will
effortlessly help our visitors through their shopping experience by maintaining the highest level of
product knowledge and customer service.
Key responsibilities:-
Customer Service
- Greet visitors and make them feel welcome by proactively engaging and interacting with
them for a seamless positive shopping experience.
- Offer assistance and respond to visitor queries about products and purchases by ensuring
your product and stock knowledge is kept up to date.
- Provide recommendations according to the visitors’ needs.
- Deliver a true and honest visitor experience by treating guests as you yourself would like to
be treated.
Daily Operation
- You will follow all the necessary processes to keep the shop running smoothly.
- Efficiently operate all POS systems enabling you to support visitors with sales, exchanges and
returns in accordance with Accounts and PCI compliance standards,
- Support the management team with stock control, stock management and loss prevention.
- You will ensure the shop floor and till areas are well presented at all times
- Help merchandise stock in line with our brand guidance and KPIs
- Ensure all deliveries are checked and stored correctly, and all shelves are fully stocked.
- Ensure all items are priced correctly
- Identify any stock going out of date and ensure stock is rotated accordingly.
- Enthusiastically host daily product tastings in rotation with other staff.
- All staff are expected to observe The Rothschild Foundations policy and practices for the
and buildings.

- You are expected to be punctual, dressed appropriately and adhere to the standards of

Terms & Conditions:
Contract Type: Seasonal Flexible
Salary: £9.50 per hour for over 18 year old
£8.50 per hour for 17+ year olds
£6.50 per hour for 16 year old
Hours: Main Season (March to October) opening times of 10am to 5pm
Winter Season (Nov to Jan) 12pm to 7pm to accommodate light displays
We are looking for people to join the team on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
(also includes Bank Holidays). You will work the same day/s each week for a
minimum of 4 hours per shift. Extra hours may be available as holiday cover,
and the occasional shift outside of the normal rota, as required by the
business. Hours may vary and cannot be guaranteed. Your pay will reflect
the hours you work. Hours of work to suit the needs of the business
(exclusive of breaks).
Annual Leave: your statutory annual leave entitlement is 28 days (20 days plus 8 public
holidays) or 5.6 weeks. This will be pro-rat’ed based on actual hours you
work. If you work a public holiday, you will be paid double your hourly rate,
but your statutory annual leave entitlement will reduce accordingly (i.e. you
are being paid double on that date, so therefore not entitled to holiday pay
or TOIL far that date).
