About

Are you an experienced member of waiting staff looking to work in a high-volume fresh food restaurant and bar? The Thai Street Café is an award-winning authentic Thai kitchen and bar with a twist of the classic street food concept. We have been established for over 10 years and are proud to have become one of Newmarket’s highest go-to venues with a reputation behind us.

Do you take your work seriously, but also want to have fun? Bring your personality to work with you. We are looking for experienced and passionate full-time servers to work in both the restaurant and bar. You will be in a great working environment and become part of the Thai Street Café family.

The job itself

• Greeting customers and managing the reservations.
• Inform customers about the day’s specials and offer menu recommendations upon request.
• Up-sell additional products when appropriate.
• Taking the customers’ orders and delivering them to the kitchen staff for preparation.
• Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness/presentation and report any problems.
• Making sure that the customers are satisfied, giving bills and processing payments.
• Operating the bar and coffee station.
• Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area.

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress. You must know the steps of service.
• Experience making drinks - we have bar staff but sometimes you are required.
• Must be able to work full time including Friday and Saturday evenings (closed on Sundays).
• Hands-on experience with cash registers and ordering systems.
• Be attentive and a team player.
• Excellent presentation skills and customer service.
• Strong organisation and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Active listening and effective communication skills.

Salary: Up to £12.00 per hour
