Job description
PURPOSE: To undertake the day-to-day running of Refresh Coffee House.
You will be expected to supervise staff, order supplies, resolve customer complaints and ensure that food health and safety regulations are adhered to.
QUALITIES/EXPERIENCE:
- Previous catering/service industry experience is desirable, not essential.
- Have some experience of managing individuals or a small team is desirable.
- Have completed Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2 Course for Catering is desirable, however full training can be provided.
- Customer care focused with excellent customer service skills.
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude.
- Strong people and team working skills.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Experience of working with social media/marketing is desirable.
- Stock and delivery ordering/sourcing/planning skills.
- Sympathetic to our Christian ethos and values.
MAIN ACTIVITY
- Serving and attending to customers’ needs in a polite and professional manner.
- Ensuring the daily and weekly cleaning schedules are completed to a high standard.
- To undertake ordering of food, beverages to maintain stock levels, using sales data where necessary to avoid excessive wastage.
- Ensure stock awaiting sale is kept at optimum condition and wastage is minimised and recorded.
- Manage coffee shop staff/volunteer rota.
- Responsible for training any new team members or volunteers on all processes.
- Ensure all relevant staff adhere to hygiene standards and policies.
- Key holder responsibilities including opening and closing duties.
- Daily cash handling, float management and till reconciliation.
- Supervise deliveries, including the checking of delivery notes and verification of delivered goods.
- Seek out opportunities to develop the commerciality of Refresh.
- Work with the retail manager to expand the reach of Refresh within the community, through use of social media, events and offers.
AVAILABILITY:
- 37.5 hours (5 days, Tuesdays to Saturdays)
