Job description

RESTAURANT ASSISTANT

  • Completing relevant paperwork.
  • Stock service and kitchen areas with supplies.
  • Clear communication with other team members and other departments

to ensure the restaurant if managed effectively.

  • Check with customers and take action to correct any problem.
  • To prepare and carry out food and beverage service to guests in a courteous and efficient manner. This includes offering table service to guests, regularly checking the floor. This will also include preparing food for delivery and takeout orders.
  • To display professional salesmanship and positive sales techniques at all times.
  • To assist in the preparation of service as required, in accordance with the required company standards.
  • To keep back of house, restaurant, internal, external areas, stock room and staff room tidy at all times and to regularly clean all associated equipment.
  • To attend training sessions and/or courses and to assist with the ‘on- the-job’ training of new staff, as required.
  • To handle minor complaints in a professional and courteous manner and to provide appropriate solutions. To immediately inform your Manager of all cases.
  • To ensure that all food & beverage items served at a quality and processed through the iPos till system correctly in order for guests to be charged correctly.
  • To read all relevant company literature, notices and other correspondence.
  • To ensure the proper care and security of restaurant equipment, stock, furniture and fixtures, reporting malfunction or theft to your Manager, immediately, and also in the case of all maintenance issues.
  • To assist in keeping operating costs to a minimum by efficient and responsible use of resources such as electricity, water, uniform, stationery, cleaning materials, china, glassware, cutlery and other equipment.
  • To comply with all Company policies and procedures including health & safety.
  • To comply with statutory requirements regarding the work place such as employment law, health and safety, hygiene, fire prevention, etc.
  • To be responsible, whilst liaising with your manager, for your own development.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duty to assist in the smooth running of the Restaurant.
