Procurement at IHG

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Global Procurement function for a passionate and hands-on Responsible Procurement Specialist to support the Global Procurement function deliver on our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Programme expansion.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Global Procurement and be part of a team who really are experts in the field. A great opportunity as well to work within a global context and experience partnering with our different regional teams across US, Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa and China.

Global Procurement plays a key role at IHG by leading procurement activities across corporate and hotel related categories, partnering with stakeholders across the business to enable decision making and working in partnership with our supply base.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support Global Procurement colleagues in defining and executing initiatives that deliver on commitments made as part of IHG’s Responsible Business strategy.
  • Assist in the implementation of our Supply Chain Sustainability Program, the wider business & managed hotels (as appropriate), including colleague communication, training and ongoing support.
  • Provide day to day coaching and support for governance matters with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with developing guidelines to operational teams in business and hotels to help them source responsibly.
  • Feed into the ongoing evolution and implementation of the sustainability & risk strategy and targets.
  • Support understanding legislative and ethical expectations associated to supply of products and services.
  • Provide appropriate solutions from external best practices and support applying them internally.
  • Work closely with CR, Risk and Ethics teams to support raising awareness of IHG’s responsible business commitments internally.
  • Provide support in the collation of data and information and subsequent internal and external reporting of Responsible Procurement activity.

What we’re looking for

Critical Expertise & Experience:
Minimum of 2 years corporate experience

Our ideal candidate would have some of the following:

1) experience in sustainability and/or risk management

2) experience of working in a franchise environment and engaging with multiple stakeholder groups

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Some ability to partner across the organization to support driving change in the Responsible Procurement agenda
  • Ability to influence peers and navigate across a matrix organisation
  • Good sense of prioritisation, organisational skills and time management
  • Good Microsoft office skills
  • Good communication skills
