Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Respiratory physiologist to support the pulmonary function department and to lead in the development of sleep and Ventilation Services. This is an exciting time to join as we are continually striving to improve services.

Perform all the physiological tests performed in the department.

Patient/Customer care.

Support and train junior staff

To manage the pulmonary function department, this includes ordering of consumables and stock items and to manage the budget for the department, and the management of staff

To liaise between the department and head of Respiratory Medicine on all matters

To be able, to perform all the physiological tests performed in the department

To obtain accurate and informative results from patients and any other subjects performing the tests, calculate results and input / retrieve appropriate information and relevant data into and from the patient database accordingly.

To lead the development of sleep and ventilation services and to the continuous development of Respiratory Services.

Support the nurses on the respiratory ward by educating and training them on all aspects of non invasive ventilation, and to initiate Domicially NIV

To give lectures and general advice when necessary to other groups both internally within the hospital and externally.

To be involved in the evaluation of new equipment.

To be involved in audit and research programs where necessary.

To demonstrate care and respect, for both patients and fellow staff members.
