On completion of a successful probation period (6 months) a payment of £500 will be paid to the applicant and a further £500 will be paid after 18 months service.
Vitality Care is now looking for a qualified Residential support worker to work at our home in Newcastle Under Lyme.

At Vitality Care we are a growing business and now have homes in Staffordshire (Newcastle Under Lyme) and Staffordshire moorlands (Alton). Both homes are registered for three young people. We have been established since 2019.

What we are looking for
It is essential to hold a NVQ or Diploma Level 3 or equivalent in working with children and young people.
The role is on a 1;1 basis (staff to young person ratio). Where you will be required to start at 7.30am and work on a two on four off pattern where possible. You will be required to sleep in the home overnight where we provide a bedroom and on suite bathroom.
You would need experience working with Children and young people with emotional behavioural difficulties.
The duties of the role are as follows.
- Be able to support young people to attend education daily, follow Educational Health care plans.
- Complete and manage paperwork which includes good report writing skills to record daily documentation.
- Follow care plans to ensure the young persons need are being met.
- Support the young people to attend medical appointments, doctors, dentist, opticians, CAMHS.
- Be a role model.
- Assist, plan and engage in activities and hobbies with the young person.
- Meet the emotional and physical needs of our young people.
- Help build positive relationships.
- Be able to liaise with all other professionals such as police, social worker, Ofsted.
- Interact and engage in visual and over the phone contact for the young people with families.

- To assist with the day-to-day administration of the home by completing and maintaining accurate recordings.

- Record and administer medication.
- You need to have a driving license.
- Be over the age of 21.
What we offer
We provide a salary of £27,472.22 per year and this includes a sleep-in allowance. You will be required to work 173 hours per month which is 11 shifts and 11 sleep ins. All additional training and team meeting will be required as extra if you are not on shift on these days.
We offer a 224 hours per year holiday without and additional benefit for working bank holidays. We offer time and a half for every bank holiday you work. The Christmas and New year bank holiday period will be paid at a higher rate due to the time of year of expected working hours. At Vitality Care we ensure that we provide you with a sleep-in payment for each of your holiday days taken so that you are not just being paid for the hours taken off work.

Vitality care work with Gateway psychology where we offer a therapeutic home for the young people who come to reside with us. However, we also ensure that staff have the support from a psychologist for one-to-one support in the role.
We also provide an art psychotherapist to work with the young people on a weekly basis.
