Aropa Care Group are seeking a Residential Support Worker on a permanent basis working in our 4-bed home in Seven Sisters, Neath. The home offers placements to young people between the ages of 8 to 17, who have social, emotional, behavioural difficulties.
We provide high quality homes for young people offering an atmosphere which promotes security, trust, fairness, and privacy for its young people within a safe and caring environment, so it is important that you are passionate about working with young people.
The home offers an environment with a person-centred approach to help young people regain the balance in their lives and prepare them for the next stage of their life, whether that is returning to their family, moving on to foster care or independent living.
As a Support Worker you will set boundaries for young people that may display challenging or emotional behaviour, whilst developing a relationship built on mutual trust. You will also provide practical care to increase their independent living skills, promoting self-esteem and self-awareness, to encourage achievement and to help them to reach their full potential.
Whilst the role of a Support Worker offers variety, superb progression opportunities and training, it takes a courageous and committed individual to really succeed at the role. Experience is not essential, but a positive attitude, friendly persona and a caring nature are an absolute must.

Requirements:
- You will need to be flexible with working hours, including days, evenings, weekends, sleeping in shifts
- If not already qualified, a willingness to undertake QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People
- Full UK manual driving licence - for driving the homes car
In return you can expect the following benefits:
- Competitive Salary of £11.00 an hour (21,450 per annum minimum)
- Scenario: Completing one sleep in shift per week you will earn a minimum of £24,155 (this is without overtime which is readily available if requested)
- Permanent fulltime contract hours (37.5 hours a week)
- Extra pay for sleeping in shifts completed (1 a week)
- Support to achieve your QCF level 3 in children and young people
- You will see your rolling rota a year in advance (5 days on, 3 days off)
