Advertised salary for full time, 52 week contract with one sleep in per week.
Basic salary is £22,256 - £23,296 per annum (£10.70 - £11.20 per hour) dependant on qualification.
Our young adults live with us on a short-term basis (between 1-3 years) whilst they attend Oakwood Specialist College in Dawlish. The young adults you will be supporting have an Education Health and Care Plan and often a diagnosis of an Autistic Spectrum Condition or Learning Difficulty/Disability. Working as part of a team to create a positive, person-centred fun and happy home for the young adults to live in
We create nurturing environments where independence and community inclusion can flourish. We do this by providing opportunities for the young people we support to learn new skills and build on their strengths within their home and in their local community; everyday life skills that will give them a sense of achievement and increased opportunity for the future.
A typical day often includes:
- Support in attending social activities, fun days out and hobbies
- Supporting people in developing essential life skills such as daily household maintenance, shopping & cooking skills
- Maintaining relationships with their family, friends & relationships
- Supporting them in making independent choices and decisions in relevant areas of their lives
- Once trained, administering medication where needed
- Supporting with personal care whilst maintain dignity and choice for the person
- Updating records in the role of a Key Worker, which can include support plans and daily record
No day is the same, but also not without its challenges, however in the home you are supported by the Registered Managers, and your fellow team members

- Your passion to be a team player and support your Team Members in a positive, encouraging way
- Your curiosity and determination in ensuring the people you support always receive the best quality of support and education
- Enthusiasm in gaining a recognised qualification in Health and Social Care, fully supported by Phoenix, only if you have not beaten us to it and already have one ??.
- Your resilience, patience and reliance in order to remain calm in difficult and challenging situations
Our working week:
You will need to be flexible to cover a variety of shift patterns including days, evenings and weekends. You will be required to complete one sleep in shift per week. There is a rolling rota of 3 days one week and 4 days the next week, with every other weekend off. We will try and be flexible to accommodate personal needs and can also consider part time hours in excess of 30 per week.
We currently have options for either term-time (41 working weeks) and 52 week contracts.
