Job description
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to work on one of our high-end, prestigious client sites in Mayfair/West End, London. The site in itself is a mixed commercial and retail building and one of newest in the local area. The main aim of this is to support the Supervisor and the team on maintaining the mechanical and electrical equipment and ensure we deliver our SLA and KPI as outlined and agreed. You will be an integral part of the established team on this site. The successful candidate will be required required to work Monday to Friday, 8-5pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Being a mechanically biased skilled engineer with a sound knowledge of HVAC, building services (water, gas, heating and ventilation, waste), BMS monitoring systems, PPM's, etc.
- Be prepared to undertake training as required by the post and the Account Manager.
- Having administration skills to maintain computer based and hard copy systems for statutory inspections and tests.
- Be able to react and work on their own initiative on an on call system.
- Be prepared to work on multiple sites as required.
- Be Prepared to be part of the out of hours on call Rota
- Having a flexible attitude with a “can do” approach and who is prepared to work outside their skill base to provide a customer based service.
Skills:
- Planning including prioritization of tasks from PPM's and Helpdesk Requests
- Reacting to breakdowns and changing priorities
- Sourcing and vetting of quotations.
- Vetting safe system paperwork and issuing Permits and Authority to work as appropriate.
- Work issuing
- Progress chasing and quality control
- Safe system and work control system closeout
Knowledge:
- Proven experience as a Shift Engineer in building services within a prestigious environment.
- City & Guilds qualifications and any relevant qualification in all aspects of Building Service's and Mechanical engineering.
- Must have team working experience and excels at motivation of small teams under substantial pressure.
- Must have the balanced ability to think clearly in extreme circumstances.
Qualifications:
- Mechanically qualified - HVAC, AC, Plumbing, Commercial Gas
- Suitable additional qualifications I:E FGAS
- L8 qualified and experience
- Sound electrical knowledge
- Multi-skilled, all round building services knowledge
