The role

The role of Event Operations Assistant will be based on a casual basis, with events mainly being Monday – Friday with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends on an adhoc basis and in line with the events calendar. The events operations assistant is a central role in supporting the delivery, and execution of events across the business and brand.

Previous experience in an event environment is essential for this role, as well as having exceptional attention to detail and great organisational skills. Excellent communication skills and customer service experience is necessary.

This is a casual vacancy. Flexibility is a must as this role does include weekend work on occassions. Pre-dominitely, the role is Monday to Friday between the times of 8am and 6pm.

Key purpose of the job

• Provide a genuinely welcoming and memorable experience for our guests, from greeting to handling any questions and helping out with requests

• Provide the high-quality service synonymous with Absolute taste and Mercedes Benz in every service, from buffet breakfasts through to 3 course banquets

• Anticipate needs and proactively provide solutions so that our guests’ expectations are not only met, but exceeded.

• Help operationally run all events held at MBW including internal and external events, from conferences, team-building and exhibitions to weddings, banquets and parties

• To manage effective and efficient relationships with all internal and external parties in support of delivering the right experience to customers and clients to Mercedes-Benz World

• Assisting in event set ups, including room set ups, dinner set ups and buffet stations

• Ensuring that all spaces are left organised and tidy at the end of an event in line with standard operating procedures

• Demonstrating to client’s strong knowledge of the venue and vendor offerings

• Delivery of multiple events on the same day

• Support the Sales & Events Manager and supervisor where required

Key requirements:

• High attention to detail, flexibility and the ability to work under pressure to meet targets

• Excellent organisational skills, with flexibility to adapt to changes

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate others in and outside the sales function

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences

• Being a proactive team player to help run multiple events

• Have a good understanding of food and drinks and working alongside chefs

• Flexible approach - working hours can be varied
