We are looking for dedicatated staff to join our friendly residential childcare team working with children (minimum age of 8 years old on admission).
We will consider people who may not have experience in residential childcare aslong as you have a passion for working with children and want to make a difference in children's lives.
Right Trak have been established since 2006 and have an excellent reputation in the sector with all three of our homes holding a GOOD OFSTED rating. We have a home in Northumberland and two homes in Newcastle.
We have very visible senior management team and extensive staff support structures in keeping with a formal and defined therapeutic model including group and clinical supervision for all staff.

Job Summary
Right Trak are recruiting a full time Residential Childcare Officer to join our therapeutic childcare setting in our Northumberland Home.
Special requirements
· To work with and maintain a high level of supervision with all young people
· To communicate with other relevant bodies and agencies i.e. education establishments, social workers etc. on a regular basis.
· To be aware of and to understand the needs of Looked After Children.
· To understand the importance of maintaining a therapeutic and caring ethos.
Qualifications and Skills
· QCF Level 3 Children and Young People / Workforce Diploma (or equivalent) is desirable for therapeutic carers (The organisation has an incentivised plan in place for those without the qualification to enable the correct candidate to work towards this qualification upon completion of their probation period).
· Residential care experience is desirable but we are also interested in transferrable skills and life experience.
· Understanding of child development, parenting, the needs of children and a commitment to supporting young people is essential.
Responsibilities and Duties
· To provide day to day care for the young people in our care.
· To keep young people safe and be committed to safeguarding
· To act as a parental figure and / or positive adult role model to help demonstrate healthy adult functioning.
· To be involved in all aspects of daily care and support for the young people
· To bring ideas and partake in activities, crafts, clubs, sports, hobbies and encourage the young people to try new things.
· To be involved in the domestic routines associated with running a busy home – laundry, food preparation, shopping etc.
· To assist the management team in providing the highest possible standards of care, guidance, support and protection for the young people and co-operate fully with colleagues in achieving these objectives whilst remembering the needs of the child are paramount.
· To be included on a work rota that provides staff cover at Right Trak on a shift basis.
· To carry out any of the practical tasks outlined on individual job lists.
· Record keeping and administration as required.
· To be constantly vigilant on health and safety matters.
· Ensuring that the setting is kept clean, tidy and organised to provide a warm and homely environment.
· Attendance at Staff meetings, and any other meeting as required.
· Attending and contributing to a regular supervision session by arrangement with the Registered Manager.
· To attend training as arranged as part of your individual development plan.
· To complete mandatory training and regulatory training as required by and provided by the organisation.
· Any other duties delegated by the Registered Manager and Senior staff.
· To drive children and young people to school, activities and family contact.
Salary
· Good rates of pay; £20,800 for non-qualified - £22,880 for qualified with experience of 2 years or over.
· Sleep in allowance of £57.60.
· Time and a half paid on bank Holidays.
· 5.6 weeks holiday a year (Pro rata).
