Pebbles Care have part-time opportunities available to work as a Residential Child Care Worker. You will work on average 10 shifts per month (average 33.9 hours per week) and there may be opportunities to increase your earnings through overtime.
Our Part-time shifts are from 7.30 am to 10.30 pm, including paid rest breaks. The shifts operate on a one day on and two day off rolling rota, ensuring that team members have an excellent work/life balance.
The role
You will be responsible for ensuring that our children and young people are cared for in every element of their lives. This career will allow you to make a positive difference to all aspects of our children and young people by accompanying them to and from school or college, facilitating family contact, creating a warm and comforting environment, shopping, cooking, cleaning and encouraging participation in local activities and hobbies.

Desirable Qualities include:
- One years' experience in child care or youth settings
- An SCQF Level 7 or Level 3 Diploma / relevant to Children and Young People's Residential workforce, or working towards.
- An interest in pursuing relevant Child Care qualifications,
- Familiar with the Codes of Practice set out by regulatory bodies, i.e. SSSC,
- An existing PVG / DBS certificate

At Pebbles, we have over 18 years' experience in supporting some of the most vulnerable young people across the UK. We aim to nurture and develop, so that children and young people can flourish in our care.
Our teams are spread across 47 registered homes and 2 academies that continue to meet the needs of young people and provide supportive ways developing and learning. We also have excellent learning and development resources to ensure that all our staff have access to high quality, up-to-date training and support.
Remuneration
- The starting salary is £18,368.00 to £18,809.00 per annum (expected take home salary), depending on experience.
- Your part-time hours, including paid rest breaks, are on average 33.9 hours per week and include day shifts from approximately 7.30 am to 10 pm.
- You are required to work across a seven-day rota, on a one day on, two days off shift pattern. There may be the opportunity to work additional hours if required.
- Pebbles are offering a cost-of-living bonus to all employees joining us on or before 14 February 2023. You will receive an additional £100 (subject to tax and NI) payable in your first month’s salary.
- You will receive 28 days holidays per annum, pro-rated for part-time employees and auto- enrolment into the company pension scheme.
- We offer opportunities to gain relevant and necessary vocational qualifications, i.e. NVQ/SVQ Level 3.
- You will also receive a comprehensive induction and support in your role through regular supervision meetings as well as opportunity to progress in your career.
