Title: Senior Residential Support Worker
Location: Penwortham, Preston
Salary: £12.50-£13.50 per hour (DoE) - £55 per sleep
Hours: Average 37.5 per week (min. 30 pw), usual pattern of 07:30-22:30, 1 on, 2 off. Avg. 5 sleeps per month on rota basis.
We have a beautiful children’s home that are looking for an experienced Senior/Residential Children's Support Worker to join our team in Longton, Preston. The ideal candidate will have experience within residential childcare and relevant qualifications around residential care and childcare with a passion for leading our team to provide outstanding care.
As a Senior Residential Children's Support Worker, you will work with the Registered Manager in being responsible for leading a team of Residential Children's Support Workers and ensuring that the highest standard of care is provided to the young people in our home. You will be responsible for ensuring that all Ofsted regulations and company policies and procedures are adhered to and that the home and team are the best they can be!
What You'll Do:
- Lead a team of Residential Children's Support Workers, including undertaking supervisions and being a role model
- Ensure that the highest standard of care is provided to the young people in our home
- Ensure that all Ofsted regulations and company policies and procedures are adhered to
- Act as a key worker for one or more young people, ensuring that their individual needs are met
- Support young people with their daily routines, education, and emotional needs
- Record and report any concerns or incidents in accordance with Ofsted, company policies, and procedures
- Attend meetings and training as required
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for young people in care
- Promote the health and wellbeing of young people
- Work with other professionals, including social workers and medical professionals, to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people
- Work collaboratively with other members of the team, including senior staff and external agencies
- Ensuring accurate and timely record keeping, report writing and daily logs
What We Need:
- Experience within residential childcare and relevant qualifications around residential care and childcare
- Experience in team leading and supervising staff
- Good knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Quality Standards, and Children’s Act
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and show resilience
- Flexible approach to work and shift patterns, including undertaking sleep-ins
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive and proactive approach to problem-solving
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
