The role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work within Warrington Council’s children’s homes.

We are looking for skilled, experienced staff to work with our children and young people to deliver best outcomes and to keep them safe and thrive constantly asking our self’s would this be good enough for my child.

Our fantastic residential homes are rated Good and Outstanding and we have high expectations on how we deliver the best care to our children and young people.

As well as an ambitious Children in Care & Care Leavers service, we have been developing our residential provision in line with our sufficiency statement to meet the changing needs of our community, and have recently been successful in a number of DFE Capital Bids. We plan to open four new homes for children over the next 12 months.

A bit about us…


We have a strong vision for social work practice in Warrington and are developing a new approach to social work. We are currently embedding a relationship based practice model that has systemic practice at its core. We are working alongside the Centre for Systemic Social Work, who are providing a comprehensive training programme to social workers and managers across our teams.

We also have a range of exciting and impactful developments in Warrington that can be utilised in supporting families, including our 'No Wrong Door Hub', The Lighthouse – a multi-agency hub where young people at risk of going into care get targeted support to cope with the multiple issues they face.

We are within easy commutable distance of Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside regions. In addition, we offer flexible working – including a blend of working from home/remotely

This is a challenging role and you will need to be flexible to the needs of the service, which includes working evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You will also be required to sleep in when required and rostered to do so.
