About the team
Research Solutions is part of Business Solutions, which is made up of critical functions that come together as a business-centric and connected community of problem solvers to ensure the smooth running of the firm.
There is an increasing demand for data across the firm and the way that the business uses data is changing on a daily basis; the scale of change is huge. Research Solutions needs to be agile to adapt to this fast-changing landscape. As a senior researcher you will provide research support to the UK firm and you will be a self-starter and problem solver who enjoys finding solutions to research based challenges. Ideally you have previous experience of working in a similar research service for a professional services or consulting firm.
About the Senior Researcher role
This is an important role within a team who manage the entire secondary research function of PwC UK. The Research Solutions team consults on all aspects of developing, winning, and delivering client work and are highly regarded for their in-depth research experience.
In this role, the successful candidate:
Provides research support to the UK firm
Works with a range of staff at all grades
Provides advice on how client staff can undertake their own research
Proactively consults with internal clients to offer solutions that add value and solve our clients' problems
Brings curiosity and challenge so that research offerings are continuously improved.
Works innovatively and leverages technology and partnerships to help the firm make informed business decisions
Works effectively with other parts of Business Solutions to support business strategy and revenue growth
Skills and experience required
Extensive technical knowledge of using secondary research tools such as Refinitiv Eikon and Datastream, Boardex, S&P Capital IQ, Factiva, Dealogic, Pitchbook and Bureau van Dijk FAME and Orbis amongst others
Able to balance and prioritise a pipeline of requests from staff at all levels
Ability to deliver high quality results, often in a time-constrained environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to effectively communicate key business messages to a diverse audience
Strong stakeholder management skills, able to consult on the research brief, manage expectations and delivery timescales and explain the data found during the research process accurately and completely
An interest in learning social media analytics tools
An interest in learning web analytics tools
Good understanding of financial metrics
Able to use the advanced functionality of Excel and Google Sheets
Knowledge of Alteryx and Tableau
Knowledge of relevant trade associations, bodies and journals
Experience of training staff on a technical competency such as research skills
Experience of working in a customer or service focused role
A proactive individual who is able to work effectively as part of a team which is geographically dispersed
Strong presentation composing skills (including the use of Google Suite)
Strong networking skills
