Job description
Overview:
Desirable
We have an immediate opening for a scientist with a background in the areas of pharmaceutical sciences or clinical pharmacology to assist with the expansion of physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models and compounds and populations libraries within the Simcyp Simulator. Experience in vitro-in vivo extrapolation techniques and a good understanding of drug pharmacokinetics would also be advantageous.
The candidate should have in-depth experience of conducting literature searches and have the ability to critically review literature and conduct meta-analysis of collected physiological, biological and clinical data. Evidence to show critical assessment of clinical trial protocols and carrying out research independently will be considered a plus. The post holder will be expected to assist with on-going customer support, education, and training related to the use of the Simcyp Simulator and to act as tutor on the workshop programmes.
The successful candidate will join an internationally recognised, multidisciplinary research team, providing opportunities for further development of knowledge and skills. The post does not include routine laboratory or clinical work. We offer a unique and exciting mix of academic and commercial environments which encourage regular attendance at scientific meetings as part of our continuous education programs.
Qualifications:
Essential
- PhD or equivalent experience in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology or related discipline.
- Interest in and knowledge of in vitro to in vivo extrapolation.
- Some understanding of modelling and simulation principles of physiological and biological systems.
- Demonstrable skills in literature searching and data compilation and analysis.
- Demonstrable communication skills, as evident by presentation at scientific meetings, and good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Desirable
