Birmingham City Centre
12 Month Fixed Term Contract

This is an ideal role for a newly qualified graduate or student seeking a one year placement who is interested in, or has aspirations of future working in the public sector, politics or eventually in public office. If you want to make a difference to society, work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and have excellent research, analytical and communication skills, this could be for you.
The post-holder will be responsible for providing first class personal support and research for the Commissioner, Assistant Commissioners and Chief Executive Officers on policing, public affairs and local government, current affairs; analysing a range of documentation from Home Office reports to the performance data of West Midlands Police, and producing detailed briefings. You will support the Political Leadership team and Senior Leadership team on a day-to-day basis, and also attend regular meetings and events with the Commissioner and the Assistant Police and Crime Commissioners. You will have the opportunity to manage projects and attend relevant training courses.
The post will be part of the Communications Team and will also involve drafting media responses, updating the website, and producing social media content.
