Hours per week: 37 – we are open to discussions about flexible working
Contract type: Permanent

About us
We have three exciting opportunities available within our Special Educational Needs Casework Team. You will be joining Oxfordshire County Council during a time of rapid improvement, in our services and provision for Children and Young People with SEND. Our vision is focused on improving outcomes and supporting Children and Young People to achieve their aspirations.
We are looking for Casework Officers in our Early Years and Primary Team and our Secondary and Post-16 team. You will be given the opportunity if successfully selected for an interview to state your preferred team.
The successful candidate will be joining existing team of Casework Officers across three geographical areas within Oxfordshire.
The role is an exciting opportunity to support Oxfordshire’s vision in improving outcomes and supporting aspirations for all Children and Young People with SEND.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior SEN Officer, you will be responsible for all aspects SEN casework, including Annual Reviews, Complex casework and Phase Transfer processes for children and young people with Education Health and Care Plans (EHC Plans). You will act as the first point of contact for children/young people with EHC Plans and their families within a defined geographical area. You will also ensure Children and Young People and their families are at the centre of everything we do.
You will be based in one of the area offices across Oxfordshire (Abingdon, Oxford or Banbury).
About you
The successful candidate will be educated to Degree level or above or have substantial relevant experience. You will have practical experience in a relevant field, experience of a customer or service-user facing environment, and will have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills. You will have a proven ability to work in a pressurised environment, to work on your own initiative with good time management and problem solving skills.
