The University of Southampton is a research-intensive University, with annual research income in excess of £120 million. The Research Information and Systems team, based in Research and Innovation Services, provides support for key research systems utilised across the University.
About the role
We are recruiting a Research Information Systems Specialist to join the Research Information and Systems team to play the lead role in managing Pure, our Current Research Information System.
The post holder will be responsible for day-to-day management of system operations and user support. In addition, the system will require regular maintenance for security updates, as well as scheduled upgrades to deliver new features and enhanced functionality. The post holder will also be working closely with colleagues within RIS as well as other professional service providers (Library, IT) to maximise service delivery and efficiency for the user base. We expect the post holder to be closely involved in providing systems support for the University’s preparations and submission to Future Research Assessment Programmes (e.g. Research Excellence Framework).
Whilst Pure support will be the main focus for the post holder, we would also expect them to provide additional support to the other systems that the team are responsible for, e.g. Worktribe.
About you
We are looking for a dynamic, graduate qualified (or equivalent) individual with a proven track of providing systems support or management, customer-focussed service and training delivery, and problem solving.
