Job description
Research Fellow
Job description
Background
We are looking for an experienced health or social care researcher to join our research team. You will have the opportunity to work on an exciting and prestigious research project funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research. The project will shape mental health policy and practice, specifically in community-based interventions for people affected by psychosis.
The Role
In the role, you will be supported by two project leads with subject and methodological expertise and will work alongside a project Communications Officer.
You will have an opportunity to develop your own expertise in both evidence synthesis and research co-production methods. Our project has authentic and extensive service user and stakeholder engagement and values lived experience alongside previous research. You will help us generate accessible explanations of why recovery may require accessibility to a range of therapies (including within psychological and social care), and explanations of the interplay between these and people’s friends, families or other support.
The Person
You will have significant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including service leaders, frontline staff, service users and service users’ family members, and experience of engaging with diverse communities and people belonging to groups identified as ethnic minorities. Although training and support will be provided, you should have a solid grounding in qualitative research methods and literature review methods, ideally using realist evidence synthesis methods. As the project is a realist synthesis, you should be open to, and agile in drawing on insights from different disciplines to develop new solutions in mental health care policy and practice.
You will value team-working and collaboration with others to achieve shared objectives in a timely way.

We want you to bring the real you to work, so we are committed to building a genuinely inclusive working environment where everyone is welcomed and where everyone can have a true sense of belonging.
