We are now looking for a Research & Development Scientist to join our Technical Department on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role
As a Research & Development Scientist, you will be responsible for carrying out thermal and physical scientific testing.
You’ll use environmental test chambers, computer software and other facilities to carry out thermal testing, producing performance reports of existing and potential products within agreed timescales.
Providing technical and regulatory advice, you’ll deliver support to customers, colleagues and the Sales, Quality and Operations teams at our York facility and other global sites.
Additionally, you will:
- Design and maintain the testing programme
- Complete testing overview and testing protocol sheets
- Monitor test chamber conditions and work with external partners to perform routine maintenance
- Maintain data analysis and data management tools
- Perform computer simulations
To be considered as a Research & Development Scientist, you will need:
- A science related higher education qualification or degree (or equivalent experience)
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge/experience of basic thermodynamics
- Initiative and desire to improve systems and processes
- Knowledge/experience of computational modelling and simulation software & techniques (experience with python or matlab beneficial)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- IT proficiency
- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle (due to our location)
