Job description
The Babylab in the Department of Psychology at the University of Virginia is seeking to hire a Research Coordinator to assist with the management of an NSF-funded study examining the developmental origins of social interaction processing in the human brain.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervising and training undergraduate research assistants and part time staff
- Organizing and leading research discussion meetings
- Coordinating research protocols and training
- Quality control on study procedures and data collection
- Assisting with recruitment of participants
- Tracking and corresponding with families
- Collecting behavioral and neuroimaging data according to procedures
- Supporting data analysis and summarizing of results
- Supporting the preparation of conference presentations and manuscripts for publication
- Maintaining research records
- Assisting senior researchers by completing tasks that support research operations
- Helping maintain website associated with research project
- Adhering to regulatory research guidelines in daily work
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
These full-time positions will remain open until filled.
This is a restricted position contingent on continued funding.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Associate's degree in related field. A B.A. or B.S. in Psychology or Child Development is preferred.
Experience: Equivalent experience/course work will be considered in lieu of degree. Experience working with children and families, using statistical software, complex research designs, coding observational data, and conducting literature searches preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
