Job description
The researcher will work on a joint EPSRC/BBSRC Impact Acceleration Account Impact Builder project to develop electrospun nanomaterial webs for organotypic culture and future medical devices. Working across the Colleges of Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) & Health and Life Sciences (HLS), the researcher will create a prototype and refine a new method of both recording from brain tissue and supporting the nutrient transfer of organotypically-cultured tissue sections. The new methods will vastly increase our understanding of biological signalling and facilitate future cutting-edge scientific and medical devices such as high-throughput drug screening or electrocorticography. The researcher will regularly meet and liaise with colleagues to ensure appropriate input, data sharing, and effective dissemination of results. In addition, the researcher will work with colleagues in EPS and HLS to share knowledge, skills and results via different means of communication.
