Job description
Research Assistant in HCV-HCC Immunoproteasome Modulation
Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have a background in hepatitis C virus-related modulation of the immunoproteasome? Do you have an interest in immunotherapies for hepatocellular carcinoma? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?
As an enthusiastic, talented and motivated post-doctoral researcher (or close to completion) you will support translational immunotherapy research in virus-associated hepatocellular carcinoma, in LIMR. The main focus of this research is to characterise the mechanisms of hepatitis C virus-mediated evasion of adaptive immunity in the context of hepatocellular carcinoma.
This role entails independent laboratory research towards specified aims, including competency in T-cell priming assays. Other tasks will include the preparation and submission of a manuscript to a peer-reviewed journal.
Your line manager will be Dr Adel Samson. The research team comprises academics with expertise in early phase clinical trials, translational immunotherapy, basic virology and molecular biology.
