About us
The Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care is part of the UCL Faculty of Population Health Sciences, which belongs to the School of Life and Medical Sciences. This post is based in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, which is led by Professor Anne McMunn. Our department’s research covers a broad range of public health topics and has significant real-world impact, informing policy both in the United Kingdom and around the world, and the wider public understanding of health inequalities. About the role
Only UCL internal applicants can apply. Applications are sought for a Research Assistant to work with Professor Georgios Tsakos to support two NIHR funded studies (SENIOR and TOPIC) on the oral health of older adults in dependent settings. The post holder will primarily be responsible for supporting recruitment and data collection and managing all aspects of the London site for these studies. The successful applicant will join a dynamic team of researchers and PhD students in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at UCL. Funding is available for this post in the first instance for a 15-month period starting from 1st April 2023. The salary is £34,502- £36,348 per annum inclusive of LA, pro-rata for part time. About you
Applicants should have MSc in dental public health or related discipline, experience in undertaking oral health research and managing projects in care homes, including feasibility studies or trials and engagement in process evaluation. The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate effective organisational ability to help manage aspects of these trials, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to work with academics, research participant and carers, dependent settings managers, civil society organisations and other stakeholders.
