Job description
We are looking to appoint a research assistant to work on a study led by Dr Ivan Koychev, examining the effect of oral semaglutide on brain inflammation and thinking ability in people considered to be at high risk of developing Alzheimer’s Disease. The post is full time and is based in Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.
The post is for a fixed term (funded to 31 August 2024 with the possibility of extension).
You will work with research registries to identify and recruit potential study participants for all study sites. You will organise screening visits, and assessments including neuropsychological tests. You will prepare summaries on study progress and assist with data input, checking and analysis.
You will have a degree (2:1 or above) in psychology or a relevant discipline along with a strong interest in cognitive neuroscience or clinical psychology. With the ability to work with patients and older participants, you will have demonstrable experience in conducting neuropsychological assessments. Knowledge of research in dementia is essential as is an understanding of research design and experimental methods. A research background in dementia, neurodegeneration, or neuroscience would be desirable.
