240 hours over 12 months
We are looking for a Research Assistant on a part time basis to support a programme of national research on learning portfolios with biological science students. The project is researching the use of reflective portfolios to support undergraduate science students’ skills development and awareness. It is a collaboration with three universities in the UK (Schools of Biological Sciences at Edinburgh, Leicester, and Kingston London and Deanery of Biomedical Sciences (Edinburgh)). The project will explore staff and students’ engagement with reflection and reflective processes so to develop best practice and recommendations.
Hours worked will vary each week/month.

Your skills and attributes for success
- You would have an interest to develop or have experience in qualitative (interviews, questionnaires, and focus groups) and quantitative (questionnaires) research methods,
- You would have experience managing and analysing large data sets
- You will have good written and verbal communication so that you can contribute to research publications and reports.
- Proven ability to meet milestones according to project timelines.
- Responds constructively to feedback and proven ability to work independently.
