Full Time - 35 Hours per Week Fixed-Term for 2 years We are looking for a Research Assistant to work in the group of Dr Val Brunton at the CRUK Scotland Centre, Institute of Genetics and Cancer, Edinburgh. The Opportunity: A research assistant post is available in the Cancer Therapeutics group at the Edinburgh Cancer Research Centre to work on a Sarcoma UK funded project to identify biomarkers of response to PARP inhibitors. The post-holder will provide support for ongoing drug screening and molecular studies. Your skills and attributes for success: Relevant first degree in the biomedical sciences field Extensive laboratory experience, across a broad range of techniques, including cell culture, protein and nucleic acid extractions, PCR, western blotting and microscopy Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for a variety of audiences e.g., preparation and presentation of data and capabilities for progress meetings, laboratory meetings IT skills, including ability to use spreadsheet and database software to a high standard Excellent knowledge of health and safety procedures and laboratory hygiene £30,619 to £35,308 per annum (Grade UE06) Jobs.ac.uk
