About the role
The UCL School of Management is seeking a research assistant who can provide support to researchers working on projects within the subject areas of Organisation & Innovation, Strategy & Entrepreneurship, Marketing & Analytics, Operations & Technology and Finance, Accounting & Economics. The post will initially be offered for a period of 12 months starting from September 2023 until August 2024 with the intent to extend this for a further 12 months thereafter if the postholder has successfully met the requirements of the role. The start date is flexible. The postholder will assist professors at various stages of research projects. General duties and responsibilities of the post include: • In collaboration with faculty members, develop and manage project timelines and action steps to ensure that deadlines are met • Maintaining a strict adherence to data protection protocols • Actively following and promoting UCL policies, including Equal Opportunities. • Maintaining an awareness and observation of fire and health and safety regulations. • Carrying out any other duties commensurate with the grade and purpose of the job. About you
For each subject area, the ideal candidate will have the following: Finance, Accounting & Economics - The post holder will have a MSc in a social science, economics, engineering, statistics, and/or computer science. They will have the ability to programme in one language, have mathematical training in order to check proofs and a motivation to pursue a PhD or academic career in the future. Marketing & Analytics and Operations & Technology - The post holder will have an undergraduate degree in a social science, economics, engineering, statistics, and/or computer science. They will have experience with either R or Python programming language and experience with large database management and academic research. The post holder will have knowledge in Econometrics, including OLS, Instrumental Variable, Fixed Effects models. Organisation & Innovation – The post holder will have an undergraduate degree in a social science, engineering, statistics, and/or computer science. They will have experience with either Python (preferred) or R programming language, and packages related to the collection and processing of data (e.g. Requests, BeautifulSoup, Pandas, etc). The post holder will have experience with web development programming (e.g. Javascript) and with large data management. Strategy & Entrepreneurship – The post holder will have an undergraduate degree in a social science, engineering, statistics, and/or computer science. They will have experience with either Python or R programming language, and packages related to the collection and processing of data (e.g. Requests, BeautifulSoup, Pandas, etc). The post holder will have experience with web development programming (e.g. Javascript) and with data management and academic research.
