The role...
As a Senior Research Executive, you will be integral to the success of our business and our clients’ businesses. You will make a significant contribution – whether on projects or working with clients – and to be part of a fun and aspirational environment that delivers excellent results for our clients.
In Observer, no two days are ever alike. You will collaborate with a broad range of fascinating clients from all types of organisations and across all sorts of sectors, including charities, businesses, government agencies, and educational institutions.
You will be constantly engaged in multiple projects at once. Some are modest and straightforward where you’ll take full ownership, while others are vast and complex where you will team up with four or five like-minded colleagues.
The research might be on your doorstep, helping local communities, or on the other side of the world, discovering global perspectives. We sometimes need views from people who are so remote that getting there requires a boat!
What will I be doing?
This will be a varied and interesting role including:-
- Involved in the management of both large and small clients.
- Taking responsibility for the design, execution and delivery of small to medium projects.
- Building great relationships with your clients beyond the transactional, demonstrating a genuine interest in them and their business issues.
- Contributing positively to the performance of our business, including playing a role in business development.
- Working collaboratively within the team and within Ipsos UK more broadly, getting involved in initiatives to help the business.
- Pursuing best practice in all you do, including keeping that best practice fresh and simple.
- Communicating complex issues and processes clearly and simply.
- Sharing your expertise or special interest with others, both internally and externally.
- Contributing positively to the performance of our business.
To be successful in this role you will need the following skills and experience:-
- Solid experience quantitative research skills experience, preferably across a range of methodologies.
- A genuine interest in market research and a desire to develop your career within a leading research company.
- The desire to build strong relationships with clients and deliver excellent client service.
- Hands-on project management skills, with experience of running complex projects.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently, and to proactively support colleagues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to tailor your communication style to suit the specific audience or message.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and confident with the desire and potential to take on management responsibility in the future.
- High level of numeracy and adept user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint with knowledge of SPSS/Survey Reporter beneficial
