A Finance Analyst role has now become available in the Central Technology team to support the Reporting and Forecasting, Headcount, Staff Capitalisation and Supply Chain processes, Working Hybrid with 2 days a week in the amazing Hatfield Head offices and 3 days working from home!

The role is responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in delivery of accurate, value driven management information pertaining to the mission's performance engaging with the Business to understand and challenge all aspects of P&L, Headcount and non CFC Capital.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Finance Analyst to effectively business partner with various departments within Ocado Technology, to influence decision making and to ultimately help the Business achieve its mission.


What else will you be doing?

  • Oversee the Month End close period working with Commercial Accounting to deliver the P&L accurately and on time.

  • Develop, enhance and be responsible for pulling together monthly reporting for all aspects of the mission including P&L, Headcount, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Capital performance

  • Support the FM and SFM in providing commentary and risk & opportunities on monthly performance for review with Senior Leadership

  • Support on all aspects relating to bi annual re-forecasts and annual Budgeting cycle as well as long range 5 year plan

  • Build strong relationships with wider Ocado Technology stakeholders becoming a trusted Business Partner

  • Proactively look for opportunities to improve reporting processes and deliver efficiencies and insights within internal and external reports

  • Challenge Business on performance e.g Staff Capitalisation rate understand how performance can be improved through data and proactively drive and implement change

  • Work on ad hoc requests from wider Business and Finance team as required

  • Develop knowledge of Supply Chain activities understanding fundamental processes and cost drivers to support value added reporting

  • Work closely with Technology Operations and Technology Development Finance teams to deliver reporting requirements specific to their direct stakeholders

About you

  • You will need to have successfully completed your Accounting qualification (Qualified ACA / ACCA /CIMA or equivalent) with +1 PQE experience in a finance environment

  • Experience in supporting finance and non-finance teams essential

  • Advanced Excel / Google skills are essential

  • Experience in global business within Engineering/Technology sectors is preferred but not essential

  • Experience of Supply Chain and inventory management is advantageous but not essential

  • Experience of mainstream accounting packages e.g. Oracle and Hyperion is advantageous but not essential
