Job description

Working under the direct supervision of the senior practice nurse and GP Partners strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

Duties and responsibilities:

• New patient health checks
• NHS Health checks
• Screening for Atrial Fibrillation
• BP check & Review BP checks
• Weight, Height and BP check.
• 10 year CHD risk management and Risk calculation
• ECG recording
• Phlebotomy (if appropriate)
• Spirometry recording
• Chaperoning duties
• Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording as advised
• Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients’ health and well-being
• Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
• Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
• Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
• Injectables under PSD guidance and protocols; Flu vaccine – Pneumococcal vaccine (Over 65s) B12 injections (supported by Practice Nurse/GP)
• DQOF LTC support to Practice Nurse / GP
• Any other duties within my skills and competencies framework and felt appropriate to my job role at Dudley Wood Surgery.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £10.42-£12.50 per hour
