Job description

We are looking for an sales focused and customer led Gallery Support Advisor to join our Gallery & Client Services Department. This role will be to provide proactive and value-added support for Galleries, in order to help maximise sales opportunities.

Key activities of the role:

  • To act as a point of support for Sales Director/Retail Area Managers/Galleries regarding availability and placement of artwork, curation and presentation
  • Provide point of contact for Galleries, both telephone and email
  • Managing gallery artwork requirements, making suggestions and recommendations of appropriate artwork for each gallery and sales
  • Implementing allocations and managing the placement & display of artwork
  • Proactively support the sales effort of the galleries by alerting them to art availability and suggesting pieces to sell
  • Managing requests for stock and suggesting alternatives where appropriate
  • Monitor sales and stock levels across galleries and develop knowledge of companywide & gallery specific sales trends.
  • Monitor sales trends, accurately controlling stock levels and ensuring optimum displays of artwork. Suggesting areas where action is required to RAMS
  • Supporting each gallery with their display plans.
  • Ensuring limited artwork is re-ordered where deemed appropriate. From several tools such as sales data, product knowledge, make recommendations & action accordingly.
  • Provide appropriate support for artwork and artist launch events
  • Respond to and process gallery artwork requests

Candidate experience and skills Criteria:

  • Excellent organisation skills with ability to prioritise effectively
  • Commercially aware and ability to spot and support sales opportunities
  • Great customer service skills with a willingness to ‘go the extra mile’
  • Able to form good working relationships both internally and externally
  • Proficient in Microsoft office & excel
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Acts proactively and is focussed on results
  • Understands how to implement promotional activity and drive sales
  • Needs to be able to work individually and as part of a team
  • Ability to problem solve and think creatively
  • Ability to work without close supervision and happy to use initiative when appropriate
  • Has an awareness of profitability, through allocation and placement of artwork.
  • Uses an awareness of Company policies and procedures to ensure best practice
