Business Data and Reporting Analyst

Leicester, UK

Permanent, 40 Hours per Week.

£37,000 - £45,000 per annum

Position Summary

An exciting opportunity for a Business Data and Reporting Analyst has arisen within one of the UK’s leading Food Manufacturers. The role has a focus on sustainability within the food and manufacturing sector and requires a seasoned Business and Data Analyst to provide technical data management expertise.

Robust data management and informed reporting is critical to enable business decision-making and to demonstrate our Responsible Business approach. Businesses are being challenged by a wide variety of stakeholders on issues such as climate change, food waste, plastics and responsible sourcing through the supply chain. So they need a strong position and action plan for these topics. Underpinning this is the need to ensure that data collection systems are robust and verifiable, allowing the business to take informed decisions, and to report internally and externally with integrity.

The Business Analyst will play a key role within the Responsible Business Team, with responsibility for providing technical data management expertise. This will include the development of systems to capture and report business-critical data including financial, procurement & production data, was well as packaging, food waste, carbon emissions and supply chain risks. The Business Analyst will be required to provide trend analysis of both current and future impacts to assist informed business decision-making. They will also be responsible for establishing verifiable data systems to ensure robust reporting to meet customer requirements and compliance with legal obligations.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

· Development and implementation of robust and auditable data capture and management systems

· Maintenance and improvement of KPI dashboards and monthly reporting of performance

· Organising, cleansing and analysis of large datasets

· Provide insight and recommendations through trend reports to allow operational and corporate teams to make informed decisions and prioritise actions

· Perform data quality checks and follow-up on missing or incorrect data to ensure robust data set

· Preparation and trend analysis of data for robust external performance reporting such as company annual reports

· Working with internal business partners and external service providers to obtain data

· Any other tasks deemed appropriate

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree level qualified in related subject;

Essential Experience

  • Previous business analyst experience ideally gained within a large organisation, preferably either a food / manufacturing business;
  • Proven stakeholder and project management experience;
  • Experience in planning and implementing projects;
  • Experience of working with and developing partnerships;
  • Experience in internal and external performance reporting;

Preferred Experience

  • Experience of giving presentations and/or facilitating workshops;
  • Experience in corporate environmental and/or ethical reporting
  • Can effectively communicate technical information with a non-technical audience
  • Is a team player who supports and encourages positive working behaviours

About the Role and Organisation

You will work at the businesses Supply Chain centralised function in Leicester which is one of their largest sites, employing over 15000 staff. Since the opening of the site they have achieved extensive growth and are the UK’s leading sandwich retailer to Tesco and other Retailers, supplying a huge variety of food-to-go products.

Over 50% of the site’s staff have worked within the business for over five years. The company honours their long serving staff working for the company for more than ten years, and this elite group represents almost a third of the workforce.

Due to growth, we are expanding and looking for a Data and Reporting Analyst, focusing on Sustainability.

You will play a key role within the Responsible Business Team, with responsibility for providing technical data management expertise. You will work across several categories to include financial, procurement, production data, food waste, carbon emissions and supply chain risks. Working on key innovation projects across climate change, food waste and plastics.

They work as part of b-inspired, a neighbourhood-based charity to improve the quality of community life and enhance the skills of the residents. Alongside this, they also have exciting projects giving back to the community by providing sandwiches within Summer holiday camps for children.
