Medianett Publishing is looking for a reporter to write up to three original news stories per day across our three leading B2B titles, Bridging & Commercial, Development Finance Today, and BTL Insider.
Based in central London, our ideal candidate for this role is someone who wants to wants to develop their career in financial journalism, is hard-working, and driven by researching and writing exciting and accurate copy to tight deadlines.
You will have impeccable time management and IT skills, and be a team player.
As a reporter, your job is to support the deputy editor by finding the latest scoops and leads to maintain our position as the news breaking outlet in our industry. You will pitch original story leads to the deputy editor every morning and write up to 3 stories per day (between 400-1,000 words) across our websites. You will also help sub-edit and headline short stories written by our editorial assistant.
Working as part of a news team means every day is different. Some days you will be working with the digital news team in the office, others you will be out and about live reporting events and interviewing key industry professionals.
What's a must?
- A knowledge of media law - NCTJ qualification is desirable
- The ability to follow briefs and a track record of writing high-quality news articles
- Experience writing for print or news websites
- Confident in interviewing industry experts
- An interest in finance, property, the economy and politics
- Thorough knowledge and command of IT and experience using a CMS, or willingness to learn
- A positive attitude and a team player
- Great at managing time for multiple daily deadlines
- An eagerness to find scoops and break news with your by-line
Hours will be 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
