Job Description Summary
Responsible for supporting clients within the SME portfolio with all their banking needs including lending, deposits and a wide range of other services. There is an expectation to grow the portfolio through bringing more of the banks proposition to your existing clients, whilst ensuring the effective management of risk. This role is an integral part of the local market, developing business opportunity, and representing the group in the professional community. You will be an ambassador for change, an early adopter of tools designed to improve the client and colleague experience and support your wider team and region to achieve their objectives.

Would you like to work for us and help local businesses of all types and sizes to prosper by offering the funding, support and encouragement they need to grow, at home or abroad. This is an opportunity for a Relationship Manager for our SME business where clients will typically have a turnover of between 3 million and 25 million pounds. You'll have a portfolio of approximately 150 Local Banking SME clients based in the UK.

Joining a local SME Team, which forms part of a wider Regional team within our Commercial Bank you will be responsible for supporting clients with all their banking needs including lending, deposits and a wide range of other services. There is an expectation to grow the portfolio so you'll be promoting the bank with professionals and key influencers in the local community to develop business opportunities and bring more clients to Lloyds Banking Group. As well as this you'll be responsible for handling the risk and compliance of the portfolio

What we'd love you to have experience-wise
Essential Skills
Ideally you'll demonstrate experience and knowledge of the following:
  • Results focused – You'll take personal responsibility for delivering results, whilst readily accepting change and utilising a growth mind set to focus on client outcomes.
  • New Client Acquisition - Highly proficient at building and maintaining productive relationships with external professionals and adept at winning good volumes of higher value new client relationships.
  • Specialist Knowledge Uses specialist credit and sector knowledge along with all available digital tools to deliver excellent client experiences whilst identifying ways to grow income, balance sheet and market share and handling associated risks
  • People – Have a Growth mindset and be keen to adopt and use key tools that enhance the client experience and demonstrate the value a Face to Face Relationship Manager brings to a client’s business.
  • Environmental Awareness - Promotes the bank’s image through strong ethics & integrity across a range of clients, prospects & professionals

Typically you would be involved with the following:
  • Providing excellent service to our Clients, putting them at the heart of what you do, adding value at every interaction and becoming a “trusted advisor”.
  • Promoting the bank with professionals and key influencers through your knowledge of the local market
  • Providing a range of funding solutions to our clients from our Term Lending and Working Capital product range tailoring them to Client needs
  • Building relationships with Group Partner companies and through them bring the whole bank to the client delivering products to meet their needs.
  • Handling the risk and compliance of your client portfolio
