Who we are
We are Birmingham's oldest pub dating back to 1368! Whilst our building is old in age, we are very much young in spirit. Our pub is considered as the 'Heart of Digbeth', we are situated in one the most create and liveliest parts of the city.
Our pub is a destination for all occasions, be it family celebrations enjoying one of the best Sunday Roasts in the city, mid week get togethers between friends or colleagues, or that party night out on the weekend in our 400 seater garden!
Not content with just opening the doors, we have a steady stream of weekly and one off events throughout the year to ensure that there is never a dull moment at The Old Crown
Who we are looking for
Our team culture at the OC is very important, and is one of the reasons we have great staff retention. Without sounding too philosophical (!) we believe work should add value to someone, not take it away! Therefore we make sure we hire the right people suited to work in our team.
In looking for new staff we focus on the following areas
- TEAM - are you a proactive manager who can motivate and get the best of your team
- CUSTOMER - are you a conscientious and empathetic manager who understands what the customer wants and how to best deal with service situations
- SYSTEMS - are you a manager who can follow and implement systems. Who understands the importance of working towards and achieving targets
Experience in managing staff is essential. As a business we will always look to improve our systems through training and evaluation
What do we offer?
We are looking for candidates who are full time employment. These shifts will be a mixed of day and evening, ensuring that the best work / life balance can be achieved.
