Purpose of the Role
The Marketing team at Metrocentre is responsible for delivering compelling campaigns that drive core brand metrics of footfall, retailer sales and market share for one of the UKs largest shopping and leisure destinations.
Based at Metrocentre you will be part of an energetic and dynamic team that delivers and promotes an annual calendar of events and campaigns, as well as supporting centre brands and community initiatives.
This is a fast-paced and varied role for an outgoing, fun-loving individual who has at least two year experience of working in a Marketing / Digital role.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills and an ability to interact effectively at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the marketing team to deliver the centre’s annual marketing business plan in line with the overall strategy
- Support to deliver events, promotions and service initiatives to achieve marketing objectives in line with the overall marketing strategy and introduce new digitally related ideas to enhance individual campaigns.
- Support to deliver the centre’s digital marketing strategy to engage and drive visits to the centre using the website, e-shots, SMS and social media by curating and developing original and engaging content across all digital platforms.
- Curate and develop engaging content from within the centre including retailer and commercialisation activity, and amplify locally across the centre website and relevant channels, giving people even more reasons to visit the centre.
- Manage retailer content across the centre’s digital platforms in a timely manner, including new retailers / leisure attractions, new ranges, events and key promotions.
- Ensure the centre’s website is constantly refreshed with new and engaging content, promoting events, celebrating key dates / key gifting windows in the annual calendar, to drive visitation and sales.
- Assist with the evaluation of all marketing activities reporting of results for each campaign, as well as ensuring that regular reporting timescales are met
- Communicate with retailers through regular retailer forums and face-to-face visits, to raise awareness of marketing campaigns and opportunities and to curate engaging content that can be amplified via the centre’s website and owned channels.
- Where appropriate, use creative writing skills to produce centre literature and digital content.
- Provide administrative support to the marketing team where required and work in conjunction with all colleagues to maintain consistently high standards within the centre.
- Deal with enquiries and requests for information and promotional space from local charities / community groups
- Support the marketing manager and assistant marketing manager with any reactive media, including managing any crisis communication issues via our digital channels.
- To ensure compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety policy.
- Any other duties as appropriate.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following:
Essential
- Proficient in full range of Microsoft applications inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint plus Canva
- Solid understanding of social platforms and key trends
- Experience of content creation and managing social accounts.
- Ability to work in a team, or alone under direction from line manager
- Team player with strong customer service skills, able to provide a helpful and polite service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an aptitude for attention to detail.
- Ability to deal with confidential information.
- Able to work under pressure to deadlines.
- Willingness and ability to learn on the job, keen to undertake training and career development.
- Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask in a calm and professional manner.
Working Hours - Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm – some events may require evening and weekends
Salary - £22,000 - £24,000 depending upon experience
