The Role

Here at Rosewood Vets, we are looking for a dedicated, experienced registered veterinary nurse who is looking to develop their skills in a supportive practice.
You will be working with an amazing, welcoming team to provide exceptional care for pets and clients alike.
We’re looking for a nurse who is motivated, wants to bring fresh ideas to the team and is committed to animal welfare, to thrive in a fast-paced, well-established practice.
We believe nurses should utilise their training and skills, running daily nurse clinics and assisting with advanced techniques in theatre provide the nursing staff with a great variety and job satisfaction.
We have a busy, varied caseload enabling you to get involved with a wide variety of procedures including specific nurses’ clinics, orthopaedics, and soft tissue surgery.

The role is a permanent, full-time position based on a 4-day week with a regular day off and a share of the weekend rota. No out-of-hours. We are open to receiving applications from all candidates, whether you were looking for 10 hours or 30 hours a week!

The salary for this role is up to £29,000 FTE depending on experience.

About Us

Rosewood Vets are part of the larger Lockwood Veterinary Group, we are a friendly, compassionate, progressive group. Established for over 25 years, we have 9 branches across the West Midlands, East Midlands, and Staffordshire.
We have a purpose-built practice and provide a spacious, light, and airy working environment. We have large bright consultation rooms, a theatre, a prep room, an x-ray room and separate cattery and kennels, digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, and an in-house lab and we are proud to be an ISFM cat-friendly clinic.

Based in an excellent location close to the M6 and M5 motorways, within easy access to Birmingham with its train links and the rest of the country as well as two nearby airports.
We have a loyal client base, and the practice, with its dedicated, friendly, experienced team is highly trusted within the local community for providing exceptional veterinary care. We have the facilities and resources to enable our staff to work in a low-stress, well-organised, supportive, friendly, family feel atmosphere. Maintaining a good working environment, staff well-being and job satisfaction for all staff are of high importance to us which is proven in our low staff turnover and longevity in service, some of the team having been with the group from the beginning.

About the Team and Culture

Our nursing team hold advanced Diplomas in a wide variety of areas including anaesthesia, emergency and critical care, feline nursing, and behaviour so this is a great opportunity for someone who wants to increase their skills and knowledge.
We have experienced Vets with interest/cert studying in surgery, medicine and ophthalmology. We also have further cert holders in surgery, exotics, and imaging. We actively encourage certificates, offering funding, CPD and support to all our team members.

Our staff’s well-being is of great importance to us, we have a very approachable, supportive management team who support our team both inside and outside of the workplace. We endeavour to ensure that the practices have some downtime, whether it be closing the doors for a couple of hours for coffee and cake, a meal out or bowling. We work very closely with local charities and the community, sponsoring the town's junior football team, visiting local schools to talk about working in a vet practice and hosting fundraising events from dog shows to coffee mornings in practice.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking and proactive nurse. The candidate must be a good team player, able to work on their own initiative, adaptable, flexible and have excellent all-round nursing and communication skills.
We are a training practice supporting student nurses so holding a clinical coach qualification or willingness to train would be advantageous but not necessary.
This role would be suitable for someone who wants to further develop to their full potential and advance their career. We are a large company, so there are potential internal progression opportunities.
