About the role:
Senior nurse ultra sonographer required to perform primarily fertility ultrasound scans including transabdominal, transvaginal, 3D and Doppler studies.
Job specification:
- Undertake responsibility on a day-to-day basis for the specialist service area of ultrasound and effective utilisation of all resources allocated.
- Perform transvaginal and transabdominal ultrasound scans in Gynaecology including AFC scans.
- Perform fertility baseline and tracking scans for IUIs, embryo transfer, IVF, egg freezing and monitoring cycles.
- Able to conduct 3D scans and assess uterus and other structures using 3D.
- Perform early pregnancy ultrasound scans.
- Able to perform Doppler studies in ultrasound scans.
- Perform transabdominal gynaecological scans and able to assess abdomen for OHSS.
- Responsible for reporting of findings by use of computerized software and filing reports in patient notes.
- Use good judgment when determining if the procedure was sufficient for a proper diagnosis, or if additional imaging procedures are needed.
- Be accountable for the quality of the service provided, including customer service, communication with the patient to ensure their comfort during the procedure, and technical aspects.
- Implement and maintain accurate information systems for clinical data in accordance with clinic SOPs and national standards.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment service, maintenance, malfunction, downtime, and performance as required and co-ordinate preventative maintenance schedules in accordance with clinical demand.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical, technical, and radiographic developments in relation to ultrasound and promote awareness of new developments.
- Ensure best practices are implemented and maintained.
- Liaise with the consultants and nurses on an ongoing basis to ensure the smooth running of the department.
- Advise patient with the next scan appointment.
- To check that treatment plan is open and check list is completed
- Manage use of consumables efficiently.
- Take part in audit secludes.
- To keep up to date with revalidation & NMC requirements
- To be able to update treatment cycle with medications.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
