The Woodlands have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic RGN to join our expanding inpatient teams. We are keen to welcome experienced nurses who are passionate about older adult care and making a difference in people's lives. The candidate should want to develop the provision of physical health within mental health services and hold an enthusiasm for service development and leadership. Successful candidates will be highly motivated, caring, compassionate and proud to work with older adults.
The Woodlands has two older adult wards, one for older adults with functional mental illness and one for dementia assessment. These wards are enthusiastically delivering safe and effective care to the older adult population of Rotherham, priding themselves on our excellent mental health and outstanding physical health care.
On the wards you would join a multi-disciplinary team in providing high standards of care to service users and working closely with carers/families. The role gives you the opportunity to develop your excellent clinical skills and will offer more experience of operational leadership. We offer comprehensive on-going support and professional development to all our staff including appraisals, personal development plans, short term & long term study opportunities & a robust clinical supervision structure.
This role is a new post to enable a person-centred focus to the physical health needs of older adults, helping to assess for co-morbidities and frailty. Following assessment the post holder will support with ongoing care needs, lead on training for other staff around physical health and enable seamless transitions post discharge for ongoing care.
