We have a wide variety of nursing staff from our paediatric specialist nursing and day ward team to our nurses working in children’s urgent and emergency care and in our level 2 HDU and inpatient areas.
Our Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital incorporates Children’s Inpatient, Ambulatory, Emergency, Neonatal and Outpatient care.
We treat children and young people across a broad range of specialties including Paediatric Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, plastics and much more.
We also have a dedicated Surgical and medical HDU. Our collaborative team care for children living in Norfolk and for those accessing specialist treatments across the Eastern Region.
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled children’s nurse with a background in practice development who has experience at band 6 or band 7 and can demonstrate they are a transformational leader with a passion for education.
You will be planning and implementing education and training for our varied group of nurses, health care assistants and nursing associates.
You can be part of our amazing new development plans! We will all be working together to help expand our children’s hospital in the near future.

- Act as a resource for the support and guidance of staff in the clinical field by providing accurate information, advice and support in education and innovation within the JLCH
- To be an expert practitioner demonstrating advanced communication and nursing skills, using expert knowledge and decision making skills in the clinical practice setting.
- Work with the divisional team both operationally and strategically to ensure clinical policies, procedures, guidelines and educational programmes meet the needs of the division, the regional paediatric network and national guidelines.
- To provide excellent visible clinical leadership and assist the Matron and ward manager in the recruitment and selection of staff in the JLCH.
- Support the senior nursing team with capability or performance management to ensure staff are able to undertake their role.
- Act as a link for Higher Educational Institutions, link tutors and students requiring clinical placements within the neonatal speciality and complete the educational audits as requested by the UEA.
- To assess current and potential education risks in the JLCH, e.g. HDU level 2 projection, to complete quarterly reports to divisional governance meetings to ensure mitigation is in place.
- To ensure paediatric nurses are facilitated to develop the skills required to undertake nursing practice at the specific grade in which they are employed.
