Job description
The Nursing Associate role has been designed nationally to meet the future healthcare needs of the population. Registered Nursing Associates work alongside existing nursing care support workers and Registered Nurses to deliver hands-on care for patients.
This is an interesting and innovative role in healthcare. When you qualify as a Nursing Associate, you will register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
The academic education is provided by a local University, which will enable you to attain a level 5 Foundation Degree in Healthcare Practice. As an Apprentice Nursing Associate the education costs will be funded by the Trust, through the Apprenticeship Levy.
This post is a training programme that combines both academic and work-based learning in the physical, psychological and public health aspects of care from pre-conception to end of life. You will experience a variety of placements across the breadth of nursing and so must be willing to learn and work for short periods in different organisations and approximately 1 day a week at the University of West of England, Bristol
You will be employed on a Full Time basis (37.5 hours per week) while you complete the Apprenticeship. Part time applications (minimum 30 hours per week) will also be considered.
The following essential criteria:
Qualification at level 3
English and Maths, grade 4 (or above) OR Functional skills in Maths & English level 2
Care Certificate
1 year care experience
