Role: Registered Nurse (RMN, RNLD) Health Care Assistants (HCA)

We specialise in the safe transportation, care and management of service users detained under the Mental Health Act or subject to the Mental Capacity Act, namely individuals who have a range of mental health/ behavioural disorders requiring admission to a psychiatric hospital. Service users may display challenging behaviours.
Our transfer journeys include to and from hospitals and secure mental health facilities, prisons, police stations, home addresses, court appearances plus other psychiatric settings. It is a demanding yet very rewarding role.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a drive and passion for providing excellence in Health Care.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the safe transportation of those detained under the MHA 1983, taking into consideration co-ordination, planning and evaluation of individual patient needs, with a focus on risk assessment/management strategies.
- Work closely with Mental Health Care Assistants to safely transport and care for patients.
- Monitor any signs of ill health during transportation.
- Report patient observations to NHS partners.
- Support empowerment of patients, having regard for their dignity and rights whilst maintaining professional responsibility for individuals in our care.
- Review and ensure correct section papers are in place for patients in our care.
Experience & Skills:
- Both newly Qualified or Experienced RMN/RNLD.
- Experience working within a Mental Health setting.
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
- Have the ability to maintain confidential documentation.
- Have a compassionate, caring and empathetic nature.
Key Requirements:
- Valid NMC registration
- Enhanced DBS
- Act within the Professional Bodies Code of Practice
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Able to work as part of a team
- Applicants must be -
- Over 25 years of age ( for fleet insurance purposes)
- Have a full clean driving licence
In return, we offer:
Salary:
£24 (RMN) 6:00am -18:00pm
£28 (RMN) 18:00pm - 06:00am
£16.25 (HCA)
Training to include:
- PMVA ½ day training
- 121 support and regular supervision
Contract:
