Regional Service Technician

Purpose of the role

To be a custodian of the brand, to effectively meet our customers’ needs, and to help build a growing, profitable, sustainable Kärcher.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • To maintain a high standard of service and repair on all cleaning equipment ensuring the delivery of a world class service experience.

  • Taking ownership of service reporting tasks
  • Full responsibility for company assets
  • Maintain sufficient stock levels specific to area
  • Maintain accreditation status
  • Full understanding of local maintenance contract terms and conditions
  • Participate in a weekend on-call rota, 1 weekend in every 4 when required.

Main Tasks

  • To Perform diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on all Kärcher/non Kärcher products (with the exception of Municipal machines) whilst maintaining company and industry standards within the agreed time restraints
  • Using Kärcher Diagnostic system to ensure diagnostic testing and repairs are thorough and to the highest quality
  • Replacing parts and components and keep detailed, organised records of repairs to each machine – in accordance with customer purchase order system/warranty guidelines
  • To maintain regular communication with the Regional Service Manager and Schedulers to ensure efficiencies and KPI's are achieved
  • To communicate and actively listen to Customers and Schedulers to ensure positive working relationships are developed and maintained
  • To complete documentation of work orders on Oneview FS365 to ensure accurate records and orders are created
  • Being responsible for the control of van stocks in accordance with customer base – ensuring 5% difference adhered to during all stock takes
  • Ensuring the relevance of individual van stock items and to liaise with the Regional Service Manager where necessary
  • Identifying and communicating sales leads relevant to the Business Development Manager and the Key Account Manager
  • Maintaining tools and equipment to a satisfactory and safe condition
  • To actively participate in 'on the job' coaching and regular performance reviews with the Regional Service Manager
  • Being accountable for your self-development and the attendance of accreditation training courses

Your qualifications, experience and characteristics are

  • 3 GCSEs at Grade 4, or equivalent, including English and Maths
  • An understanding of mechanical, hydraulics and auto electrics
  • Proven experience in the service and/or cleaning industry
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills required with the ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to build rapport and customer relationships
  • Experience with electronics, batteries, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and diesel engines- Desirable
  • Full UK driving licence essential
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight if required
  • Some training will take place in Germany so ideally a passport is required.
