The region that this role covers is Nottingham and Leicestershire.
Purpose:
As Regional Operations Manager you will optimise the financial performance of the Region. You’ll recruit and grow High Performance Teams based on fair and consistent performance management through to ensuring patient safety, quality and standards are delivered across the Region.
Scope:
This role reports directly to the Head of Operations North and will be responsible for:
Driving Results
- Line manage the Area Operations Managers and the key strategic pharmacies within the region
- Provide clarity & purpose to the Area Operations Managers and across the Region to deliver the business goals
- Ensure all Pharmacies have robust Business Plans to deliver annual regional contribution budget
- Use available data and tools to diagnose, analyse & formulate plans to drive profitable growth of Rx, services, OTC & convenience and to deliver against budgets
- Communicate in an effective & consistent way, ensuring that everyone on the Region has Clarity, Focus & Accountability
- Deliver payroll spend & hours and all other costs are within budget
- Deliver excellent Retail and efficient operational Standards across the Region
High Performance Team
- Build highly capable, engaged and diverse teams through leading a performance-led culture
- Actively ensure engagement with all learning & development opportunities across their Region
- Effectively coach Area Operations Managers, Pharmacy Managers and their teams, flexing leadership style as required
- Foster an “own business” mentality in all of their teams whilst operating within the agreed corporate framework
- Develop an effective succession plan which deals with underperformance whilst providing opportunity for talent
- Actively look for opportunities to recognise & reward success across the Region & wider Operations team
- Ensure completion of all mandatory training within the required timeframe to deliver competence
- Contribute to the effective working of the wider Operations team: sharing best practise & supporting colleagues
Patient Safety, Quality and Standards
- Ensure the delivery of regulatory, professional and NHS standards
- Develop a culture of continual improvement in the Region
- Ownership of serious patient safety incidents and complaints
General
- Lead our ‘Delivering Well’ strategy through alignment of Regional Business Plans to corporate strategy
- Ensure the delivery of Customer, People & Compliance measures through focus on ‘Performance-on-a-Page’
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Community Pharmacy and factors influencing the market (local and national)
- Monitor competitor activity
- Ensure the delivery of business case for all investment projects
- Ensure legal and operational compliance
- Participate in or contribute to other projects & activities as required by the business
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Significant experience of field/ multi-site management
- Understanding of the pharmacy market & profession (desirable)
- Excellent leadership competence, demonstrates a wide range of skills
- Excellent communication skills - describes our Mission, Vision & Target in a clear & compelling way
- Strong planning and organisational ability – able to manage conflicting priorities
- Brand Ambassador who develops & maintains highly effective relationships with external stakeholders
- Excellent networks through building relationships based on mutual trust
