- Enable the Regional Head of Procurement (UK/Europe) to partner with the Regional Executive Team in all day-to-day procurement operations that impact the Regional P&L.
- Lead effective business partnership for Regional UK/Europe Agriculture and Ingredients to positively impact the Regional P&L.
- Manage the Regional Agriculture and Ingredients procurement team from regional category strategy development to contract and supplier management.
- Provide information and impact assessments to Global Procurement teams to set Global procurement strategies and plans and excellently implement them for the region.
- Drive and deliver cost and services projects, developing a positive relationship with Global Procurement team.
- The role reports to the Regional Head of Procurement – UK/Europe
- Acts in accordance with and advocates the ‘Procurement Key Operating Principles’.
- As a key member of pladis Regional Procurement, acts to ensure self and all Agriculture and Ingredients team members are seen as exemplars of professional procurement practice, ensuring all procurement activity in accordance with pladis procurement operating model, One Procurement Community (OPC), stated ethics, CSR and other procurement and legal policies.
- Ensure 100% alignment and delivery of both Regional and Global Procurement targets.
- Delivers high quality strategic solutions for Regional UK/Europe Agriculture and Ingredients categories to meet the needs of the organisation, delivering value and having significant coverage and commercial influence over regional 3rd party expenditure.
- Demonstrates effective stakeholder management ensuring delivery of commitments to key stakeholder areas relevant to Regional UK/Europe Agriculture and Ingredients and Global categories and the wider business.
- Responsible for ensuring annual Regional process is adhered to and business owners aware of their accountabilities.
- Effectively communicates the Businesses and Procurement’s strategic direction and cascades into objectives and action plans for direct reports.
- Takes ownership of specific tasks/projects as directed by Regional Head of Procurement – UK/Europe and pladis Chief Procurement Officer.
- Develops, leads, coaches and mentors direct reports. Coaches and mentors colleagues across the OPC as requested.
- Leads team building, collaboration and demonstrate the required pladis leadership attributes.
- Supports Regional Head of Procurement – UK/Europe, providing leadership and support on Region Procurement and Regional Agriculture and Ingredients categories across the OPC.
- Manages performance and talent management activities with direct reports and associated teams; and ensures consistency by checking performance data with the leadership team.
- Ensure as team members have personal development plans and conducts formal and informal performance reviews with all team members.
- Understanding the Regional Procurement risks that will be monitored by all pladis Group Companies and pladis Procurement Team;
- Responsible for implementation and monitoring of Global risk mitigation plans within the Region for Agriculture and Ingredients.
- Providing the Regional UK/Europe Packaging and Ingredients inputs in terms of investment and budget to the Global Procurement teams and understands in return how the Global Strategies may impact the Region. Is responsible for the procurement budget for the region
- Undertakes and improves detailed business requirements analysis from Risk, Sustainability and Research & Insights; and aligns Regional category strategies to pladis’ objectives.
- Inputs and supports Regional Head of Procurement in planning the Procurement investment and budget for the Region as advised.
- Define the strategies and plans, aid to budget delivery, including respect of governance and policies, and insights received from Market Intelligence.
- Support the alignment of key members in the Region with approval of Global category strategies. Implementing excellently Global strategies and plans defined by Global Procurement teams.
- Drives innovation and continuous improvement across the business, acting as a role model around quality and process standards.
- Develops and maintains detailed supply market knowledge and tools that drive innovative sourcing solutions within their key Regional categories.
- Leading the sourcing cycle for Regional Agriculture and Ingredients Procurement; engaging negotiation teams when relevant; driving an effective negotiation process.
- Reports on Regional category level performance metrics and other relevant management information.
- Conducts supplier segmentation and develops, maintains and communicates a preferred supplier and approved product/service list for their agreed categories.
- Understands the impact of category decisions on the business units P&L and the global pladis impact.
- Actively keeps abreast of latest innovation, technologies, thought leadership, forces affecting the Regional and Global category agenda and acts accordingly to enable pladis to in in the regions.
- Develops and manages appropriate supplier relationship management program with key Regional category suppliers.
- Develops and implements rigorous contracts for all Regional UK/Europe Agriculture and Ingredients category suppliers within the category, incorporating service level agreements and continuous improvement targets.
- Drives supplier and product/service rationalisation through cross-functional reviews with key stakeholders.
- Lead the creation and management of contractual coverage for all Regional UK/Europe Agriculture and Ingredients categories.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers. Performing the sourcing cycle and negotiating with suppliers using a broad array of negotiation techniques. Proactively and appropriately communicating with them throughout the sourcing cycle for best outcome for pladis.
- Drive success of global and regional contracts by implementing across all appropriate business areas in conjunction with regional teams. Identify compliance issues, working with key stakeholders and Regional Procurement to rectify where possible.
- Works collaboratively with Global Procurement teams to ensure appropriate supplier evaluation and performance management plans are in place for Global (as well as Regional) category suppliers.
- Driving the supplier relationship management (SRM) for the Regional categories; identification of suppliers, selection and relationship management; and providing feedback to Global Procurement on Global categories.
- Leads and facilitates appropriate supplier/cross-functional workshops to seek and implement innovative and value adding ideas and proposals from suppliers.
- Excellent functional Procurement experience leading categories across a region and/or multiple geographies, within Direct, Marketing, and Indirect categories.
- Strong capability to set category strategy and plans; experienced in establishing credibility with internal and external partners.
- Strong budget management, analytical, and quantitative skills
